Included with suitable bookings
Your party gets its own Live DJ Room
Aidy Smith DJ bookings can include an event-specific interactive room that guests open on their own phones. It adds another layer to the night without handing control of the music over to the crowd.
Guests can request songs, join live activities, play Bingo and party games, send shout-outs and interact with other people at the event. Features can be switched on as the night develops, so the room changes with the party rather than feeling like a separate app.
No app or account required. Guests join from their phone using a first name or nickname. The Live DJ Room is tied to the event and opens around the booked party.
Song requests that stay with the DJ
Guests can send requests and support popular choices while Aidy still decides what fits the room, timing and crowd.
Live Bingo on guests' phones
Bingo cards can run inside the Live DJ Room, with the game managed digitally instead of relying on paper cards around the venue.
Polls, battles and party moments
Live polls, Song Battle, Quick Fire, Party Awards, Team Battle and other interactions can appear when they suit the event.
Kids self-play games
For suitable family events, younger guests can play their own phone-based games including Party Beat, Party Memory, Catch the Stars and more.
Party Chat and shout-outs
When enabled, guests can chat, react and send shout-outs without leaving the event room, with moderation controls available.
Useful Event Host controls
The person who booked can help with announcements, moderation and selected interactions while Aidy keeps the DJ controls and music queue.
Music planned, then adapted live
A DJ set built around your event
Before the event, we can agree important requests, music priorities, timings and anything that should be avoided. That gives the night a clear starting point without locking it into one fixed playlist.
Once people are on the dancefloor, I watch what is working and change direction when the room needs it—whether that means moving through decades, leaning further into dance and club classics or giving a requested track the right moment.
Experience
25+ years of professional experience behind the decks
DJing has taken me through private events, club nights, radio, event promotion and music production. That wider background matters on a current booking because it is not just about knowing tracks—it is about reading a room, understanding timing, working with venues and knowing when the energy needs to change.
Today that experience feeds directly into Aidy Smith bookings for parties, weddings and events, while the longer drum and bass history continues through specialist bookings and original music.
Frequency FM + Metropolis
Hosted a weekly late-night drum and bass and jungle show for several years, later playing Room 2 at Metropolis in Leeds with Frequency FM.
BBC Radio 1Xtra
Aidy Smith's drum and bass alias Audio Demon had his track Threat received airplay from DJ Bailey on BBC Radio 1Xtra.
Bradford University
Promoted and ran a drum and bass night headlined by G-Dub and Dysfunktion.
Mista Smith Digital
Original drum and bass releases distributed through major digital stores, including Beatport.

Questions before you book a DJ
Quick answers about locations, event types, pricing, music, equipment and specialist drum and bass bookings.
I cover suitable Aidy Smith events across West Yorkshire, including Bradford, Leeds, Halifax, Huddersfield, Wakefield, Keighley, Ilkley and Dewsbury. Bradford, Leeds and Ilkley have dedicated DJ-hire hubs, while the event-service hierarchy provides local pages for the other main West Yorkshire areas.
Bookings include birthdays, weddings, private parties, engagement parties, anniversary parties, corporate events, Christmas parties, bars and pubs. Specialist club and drum and bass bookings are available through Audio Demon.
The price depends on the event, expected attendance, timings, location and equipment required. See the DJ pricing page or send the event details for a tailored quote.
Popular Fridays, Saturdays and seasonal dates can fill earlier than quieter dates, so it is sensible to check availability as soon as the venue and event date are known. For more detail, read how far in advance to book a DJ.
A complete DJ setup can be supplied when required, including the DJ booth, speakers, lighting and microphone. The exact setup depends on the event and venue. See the DJ equipment page for more information.
Yes. Important requests, favourites and music preferences can be discussed beforehand. The final set can then be adapted live around the crowd instead of following one fixed playlist. You can also read what music to send your DJ before a party.
Setup time varies with the equipment, venue access, carrying distance, stairs or lifts and the size of the booking. The detailed DJ setup-time guide explains what can affect it.
Yes. Audio Demon is the specialist drum and bass side of Aidy Smith, with liquid, jump-up and tech-focused sets for promoters, venues and specialist events across the UK. Start with Drum & Bass DJ or the West Yorkshire D&B hub for the full specialist hierarchy and local pages.
The Aidy Smith Live DJ Room is an interactive event room available with suitable bookings. Guests can join from their phones for song requests and, when enabled, features such as Bingo, party games, polls, Party Chat and shout-outs. Aidy still controls the music and decides which interactive features are appropriate for the event.
