Garden parties
Private summer celebrations where the weather plan, neighbours and covered DJ position need checking first.
A summer party can mean a private garden, marquee, courtyard, function room or company venue. The right DJ setup depends on where the guests will actually spend the evening and whether the performance area is protected from the weather.
If the party is outdoors, send the site details before booking. Cover, ground conditions, power, access and a bad-weather alternative all matter more than simply having an outside space available.
The same season can produce very different events, so the music and setup should follow the actual booking rather than one generic summer-party formula.

Use a defined covered space for the DJ, guests and dance floor while keeping the event connected to the outdoor setting.
Function rooms, halls and hired spaces for summer birthdays, family events and private celebrations.
Staff socials, food, awards and evening entertainment planned around the company running order.
A summer party does not need a fixed soundtrack of obvious summer songs. The set can move through the music that suits the host, guests and different parts of the event.
Earlier music can sit comfortably behind food and conversation, then the set can become more dance-floor focused as the evening develops.
DJ lighting has less impact in bright summer daylight. If the event starts earlier, the sound and music may do more of the work while guests are outside, eating or socialising.
As natural light drops, lighting becomes much more noticeable around a dance floor, marquee or indoor room. That means you can choose the lighting setup around when the party is actually expected to become busiest.
See Lighting OptionsOutdoor and semi-outdoor events need a few extra checks. The DJ area has to stay protected, cables need a safe route and the setup must work with the ground and power available.
Noise can also carry further outside, so send any venue rules, neighbour concerns or fixed finish times before the booking is confirmed.
Outdoor Party ChecklistSuitable summer parties use the normal Aidy Smith guest-based packages. The first four hours of DJ performance are included, with lighting, subwoofers and extra time added only where the event needs them.
The booking form opens with Other selected as the event type. Other events use the same Aidy Smith Gold, Platinum and Diamond booking flow, so summer parties do not need a separate event-type option.
Professional PA, the DJ booth and microphone are included with the suitable package. Lighting is optional from the current range, and subwoofers can be added where extra low-end support suits the venue.
Summer bookings are easier to price correctly when the event location and weather plan are clear from the start.
Summer parties can overlap with private celebrations and company events, so use the page that best matches the main reason for the booking.
Christmas, Halloween and New Year's Eve have their own Bradford pages with event-specific planning and timings.
