Choose the area closest to your venue for local Christmas-party information. Dedicated local pages are available for Bradford, Leeds, Halifax, Huddersfield, Wakefield, Keighley, Ilkley and Dewsbury.

You can still book directly from this West Yorkshire page if the venue is elsewhere in the county. The city pages add local detail, but the booking itself depends on the date, venue, guest numbers, timings and event format.

Plan a varied Christmas playlist

A Christmas party usually works best when festive songs are part of the night rather than the entire night. Familiar Christmas tracks can be used during arrivals, food, early dancing or key moments, while the main set stays broad enough for the actual guests.

That can mean current pop and dance, 80s and 90s favourites, club classics, singalong records and organiser requests, with festive tracks added where they feel natural. Staff parties in particular often have a wide age range, so the set should move between generations without becoming random.

Send must-plays, useful artists and anything you want avoided before the event. A few clear preferences are more useful than trying to write the entire playlist in advance.

Event format

Different Christmas events

A staff Christmas dinner, private family celebration and public venue night can all need a DJ, but the running order is very different. The booking should reflect when guests arrive, whether food is being served, if speeches or awards are planned and when the main party is expected to start.

For company events, one organiser or event contact should provide the final timings and any announcements. That keeps the DJ aligned with catering, venue staff and speeches rather than receiving conflicting instructions from several people on the night.

For private parties, the plan can be simpler: venue access, guest numbers, music preferences and any important moments are usually enough to shape the evening.

December dates

Book popular dates early

Christmas bookings are concentrated into a short period, and many companies and venues want the same Friday and Saturday nights. If the date matters more than the final playlist, it makes sense to check availability first and refine the music and timings afterwards.

The venue should also confirm access times early. December events can have catering, decorations, photographers and other suppliers using the same loading area, so knowing when the DJ can enter and set up helps avoid delays close to guest arrival.

If your event is on a weekday, earlier in December or outside the usual peak dates, send the details anyway; availability is checked against the actual calendar rather than assumptions about the season.

Sound and lighting

Setup for Christmas parties

Mobile DJ bookings can include professional sound, DJ booth, party lighting and microphone where required. A microphone is particularly useful for company announcements, awards, thank-yous and practical instructions before the main party starts.

If the venue already has suitable sound or lighting, send the equipment details in advance so the setup can be planned around it. That can reduce duplication and make the load-in simpler on busy December dates.

Decorations should not block speaker positions, exits, walkways or the DJ working area. If the room layout changes significantly for Christmas, confirm where the DJ will actually be positioned rather than relying on a standard venue floor plan.

Booking

Christmas party pricing

Eligible Aidy Smith events use the current guest-based package structure, with travel and optional extras handled separately where they apply. The booking form can preselect the Christmas event type so the enquiry begins with the right information. Standard Christmas party dates use the normal package structure; Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and England & Wales bank holidays include a £100 premium-date surcharge.

Longer company events, unusual venue access or bookings that need additional equipment may require a bespoke quote. Send the real event schedule rather than only the expected dancefloor hours if the DJ needs to be set up and available earlier.

The quote is based on the actual job: date, venue, attendance, timings, equipment and travel. That makes it easier to compare the right setup instead of choosing purely by a seasonal label.

Questions

Christmas party DJ FAQs

What kinds of Christmas parties do you cover?

Suitable bookings can include staff Christmas parties, private festive celebrations, venue events, end-of-year socials and organised company nights. The music and setup are planned around the event rather than using one fixed Christmas format.

Do you play Christmas music all night?

No. Festive tracks can be included at useful points, but the main dancefloor usually benefits from a broader mix of familiar party music, current tracks, 80s, 90s, dance and club classics based on the guests.

Can you work around food, speeches or awards?

Yes. Send the running order in advance so background music, announcements, speeches, awards and the main party set can be planned around each other.

Do you provide a microphone?

Yes. A microphone can be included where required for speeches, awards, announcements or company messages.

Do you cover Christmas parties across West Yorkshire?

Yes. Suitable enquiries are considered across Bradford, Leeds, Halifax, Huddersfield, Wakefield, Keighley, Dewsbury, Ilkley and surrounding West Yorkshire areas.

When should I book a Christmas party DJ?

Popular December Fridays and Saturdays can fill early, so checking the date in advance is sensible. You do not need a finished playlist or final running order before securing availability.

Is there a surcharge for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day or Boxing Day?

Yes. Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and England & Wales bank holidays include a £100 premium-date surcharge. The booking form applies it automatically when one of those dates is selected.

Can guests request songs?

Yes, where requests fit the organiser’s brief and the event. Suitable Aidy Smith bookings can also use the Live DJ Room for digital requests and selected interactive features.

Check your date

Send the date, venue, guest numbers and running order to check availability. If the event includes food, speeches, awards or an earlier background-music period, include those timings so the booking reflects the whole event.

You can confirm availability before the final playlist is finished. Once the date and venue are secured, music requests and the detailed running order can be refined closer to the event.
