A lot of Leeds parties take place in function rooms designed to work for many different events. UV gives you a way to change the atmosphere without needing to redesign the whole venue.
The strongest results come from planning the dance-floor area around the room: where the UV can reach, which lights the venue can dim, where guests will spend most of the night and what décor will actually react.

A strong UV party needs contrast
The UV Lighting option uses two 300W LED UV fixtures, but output is only part of the picture. A darker medium-sized function room can produce a more convincing glow effect than a much larger space with bright permanent lighting.
That is why I would rather check the Leeds venue than promise that a particular wattage will make every room look the same.

Build the glow theme around things UV can actually show
You do not need to cover every wall. A few deliberate choices around clothing, signage and the dance floor can do more than filling the venue with decorations that barely react.
Dress code
White and fluorescent clothing gives guests an easy way to become part of the glow effect.
Accessories
Suitable wristbands, glasses, tape and UV-reactive details can add colour without taking over the room.
Signs & backdrop
A focused backdrop or sign near the main party area can give photos and the dance floor a stronger identity.
Test first
If a particular decoration matters to the theme, check that it really fluoresces rather than assuming every neon colour will.

City-centre rooms can be excellent party spaces, but the practical route from vehicle to dance floor matters. Parking restrictions, loading bays, lifts, stairs and narrow access can all change how early setup needs to begin.

Keep city logistics separate from the UV add-on
UV Lighting itself is a £50 add-on. Where the current central Leeds logistics fee applies, that covers the extra inner-city travel, parking and more complex load-in rather than being hidden inside the lighting price.

The UV lights are not hired as a standalone effects package. They sit inside an Aidy Smith event booking, so the music, sound, booth, lighting and venue plan can all be organised together.
That also means the music can stay flexible. A neon or glow theme changes how the room looks; it does not dictate one playlist.

The best UV parties still feel like good parties first. The lighting should support the night rather than force every minute into the same visual or musical idea.

UV Party DJ Leeds FAQ
Yes, where the venue layout, access, power and lighting conditions are suitable. The UV Lighting option uses two 300W LED UV floodlights alongside the agreed Aidy Smith DJ setup.
It does not need to be pitch black, but the UV effect is stronger when bright house lights and daylight can be reduced. Emergency lighting and any venue-required lighting must remain as the venue requires.
Ask about room lighting controls, windows or daylight, earliest access time, loading and parking, available power near the DJ area and any restrictions on lighting equipment or room setup.
It can still create a useful themed area, but room size and ambient light affect the result. Two UV floods do not guarantee identical wall-to-wall coverage in every hall, so the setup is planned around the main dance-floor or party area.
UV Lighting uses the two dedicated UV lights as the lighting selection. Full Setup combines the UV lights with the Spider Lights and Moving Head for a broader light show. If the blacklight effect is the priority, using less competing visible light can sometimes give stronger contrast.
UV Lighting is currently £50 in addition to the chosen Aidy Smith package. Central Leeds bookings can also have the current flat logistics fee for inner-city travel, parking and more complex load-ins.
No, but the visual effect is much stronger when guests use white, fluorescent or genuinely UV-reactive clothing and accessories. Not every bright colour fluoresces strongly, so planned decorations should be checked before relying on them.
